Container flower design has always been challenging for me! I can never put together a design that looks very professional! But with this easy recipe that you repeat for each design, we can all be pros now!! All thanks to @callowaysnursery for our tips today!! They came out to our house and gave us the ins and outs of creating beautiful container designs! I'm so excited to share everything l've learned and so excited to pass it along to you!
Every planter we followed the same rule of THRILLER FILLER & SPILLER!
Thriller (this is usually in the center and either taller or just your show piece), filler (great for ferns or flowers to fill in all the space, and spiller (something the falls over the edge)!
One of our planters was a little bit skinnier, so we skipped the filler and went straight to the spiller, which you can do! One of our other smaller planters we actually skipped the thriller and just did the filler and spiller! So you can edit this recipe to fit your sit and style!

Entry Pots
MacKenzie-Childs Pots
• Thriller: (1) Angelonia
• Filler: (2) Strap Leaf Caladium & (1) Kimberly Queen Fern
• Spiller: Lysmachia aka Creeping Jenny in the front and the back of the pot (one 10” basket split between both pots)
Tall Wavy Pots
• Thriller: (1) Monrovia® Two Ball Topiary Emerald Colonnade® Holly
• Spiller: Cora® Cascade XDR Vinca White (one 10” basket for each pot separated into a C so it’s planted around the Holly)
Poolside Containers

Ups-A-Daisy Container Insert: Used a 10” size in the bottom of the pot to not have to fill the entire pot up with soil.
